Non-Discrimination Statement

Sunnybrook Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Sunnybrook Christian Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin in administration, or its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic, or other school-administrated program.

Philosophy of Admissions

Sunnybrook Christian Academy is a non-denominational school educating First through Twelfth grade students. Sunnybrook Christian Academy offers a Christ-centered quality education in an effort to transform lives. Our goal is to reach as many multiculture families as possible in an effort to evangelize all who come to our school as non-believers and to strengthen the believer.

General Admissions Procedures:

A Sunnybrook Christian Academy application must be completed and turned in to the admissions secretary. The application is considered complete when all application forms have been completed and turned in and to include, but not limited to:

$25.00 application fee (non-refundable)

An original or a certified copy of the child's birth certificate.

Child's up-to-date immunization record

Student's social security card

Copy of most recent report card

Copies of all standardized test results
(TAKS, Stanford, ITBS)

Recent picture of student

Completed application, medical emergency card, and home language survey

Student Recommendation Forms
(5th - 12th grade students only)

Legal documents (if applicable)

Parent's drivers license and/or ID card

Testing

Once the completed application has been processed the parent will be contacted to set up a placement assessment testing date and time.

First through Third grade students are administered a Developmental Reading Assessment as well as the ABeka Math Curriculum End of Year Test.

Fourth through Twelfth grade students meet the same testing requirements as First through Third grade students with an additional writing component.

Administrative Interview

Once placement testing is completed and has been reviewed by Administration, a formal interview will be scheduled with the applicant and at least one parent or guardian, a teacher, and an Administrator. After prayerful consideration, the administration will inform the parents as to their child's admission status to Sunnybrook Christian Academy.

Academic Requirements

First through Fourth grade students must be reading no more than two years below grade level, and must demonstrate proficiency in Mathematics. Fourth grade students are also required to provide a writing sample which reflects essential writing strategies.

Fifth through Twelfth grade students must be reading no more than one year below grade level and must demonstrate proficiency in Mathematics and Writing skills.

New inquiring students, as well as current students, are expected to maintain a higher standard of personal and moral character than most students. Upon completion of testing and administration fees received, both student(s) and parent(s) are required to adhere to Sunnybrook's policies which is bounded by signatures of both student(s) and parent(s), or legal guardian.


finaNcial aid

CEO/HORIZON Scholorships are accepted. Increased tuition rates that include books & fees are available to eligible families. Rates vary from $2500.00 - $4200.00 annually per child.
